The Unusual Symptoms company under the artistic co-direction of Alexandra Morales and Gregor Runge produces works by house choreographer Samir Akika alongside various international choreographers with an internationally cast ensemble at Theater Bremen. Next to their performances at Theater Bremen, Unusual Symptoms regularly guest at theatres and festivals, both nationally as well as abroad.
As a choreographic assistant, you will closely collaborate with the choreographers and artistic teams from the various productions and serve as the connection between ensemble, artistic direction and the various departments and disciplines at the house. You will be responsible for rehearsal and week plans, evening management during performances as well as for the preservation and study of repertoire. In close coordination with the ensemble, you will curate and steer the daily company training with varying guesting lecturers/choreographers. You will support the artistic direction in the conception and realization of special events as well as for networking and agency formats.
You should bring several years’ worth of professional work experience in contemporary dance as well as practical experience as a professional dancer or dance agent/educator to this position. Having studied dance or choreography as well as experience at municipal or state houses would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite.
